Following a further successful grant application to CyMAL: Museums, Archives and Libraries Wales, Cardiff EDC is continuing to offer a free subscription to ESO to all libraries, schools, public organisations and individual citizens in Wales for the period April 2012 - March 2013.
The editorial base of European Sources Online (ESO) has always been in Wales at the European Documentation Centre (EDC) within Information Services at Cardiff University. Since 2006 Cardiff EDC has also taken over the publishing of ESO.
To mark this development we have attempted since 2006 to index key information sources which will help citizens, students and stakeholders in the Principality find out about the impact of Europe on Wales.
Like all other subscribers you can search the entire ESO database and browse the Information Guides from the ESO home page. However, from this special page you can search for information that relates specifically to Wales and Europe.
You will find information from the following sources:
You can find these sources in two ways:
1. Tick the Geographic Indicator 'Wales' from the Advanced Search page and set off a search. This will find all records in the service that have Wales as the Geographic Indicator.
2. From the list below you can set off pre-defined searches to find information on specific aspects of Wales and Europe - for example: Wales and Agriculture; Wales and the Structural Funds etc.
[If on the first occasion when you set off a search from the list below you get taken to the ESO Home Page rather than a list of hits please hit the Refresh button - an incompatibility between different browsers can cause this problem].
